Featuring Dr. Susan Whiten, senior anatomy lecturer at St Andrews University (now retired), Jen Robson and Kirsty Whiten, artist-tutors.

The course is suitable for anyone with some experience of life drawing. It will be ideal for anyone who wants to make more convincing drawings of the human figure, or has an interest in understanding anatomy and translating it into their own style.

Each week, you will prepare for class by watching a video tutorial. Just click on a link in an email from us to watch (and re-watch) the videos as much as you need for the duration of the course. You will need internet access good enough to stream the videos.

Dr. Whiten delivers a short and informative lesson on various parts and functions of the human body, followed by life drawing tutorials by Jen Robson or Kirsty Whiten, showing how this fascinating information can be incorporated into your drawing. (duration 15 – 30 minutes). The drawing tutorials introduce some inspiring and challenging approaches, to deepen your experience of life drawing.

The in-person class will give you the chance to practice what you’ve learned, drawing a life model and model skeleton in a variety of poses with tutor support.
