BACK! ART FOR BEGINNERS
Nichola graduated in Fine Art from Duncan of Jordanstone, winning many prestigious awards. Working from her studio in Fife, she exhibits widely, with work in private international collections.
These classes are aimed towards those who have an interest in creating art but have never taken art classes, or for those who have taken art classes in the past and wish to revisit their passion. Students will be taught the fundamental techniques of drawing and painting such as line, shading, colour mixing & composition. You will achieve an understanding of form by first learning to draw before commencing onto painting where you will be taught colour mixing techniques, colour values, and painting application techniques. Students will be introduced to the following media in this beginner's courses: graphite, charcoal, pastel, watercolour, acrylic paint and oil paint. Class themes include portraits, still life & landscapes working from both life and photographic images.
By the end of the course, students will have a solid comprehension of structure, different media, and approaches in the 2-dimensional format, and the motivation to develop their new skills.
If you wish to relax and have a bit of fun while learning about art or if you are looking to find a creative way to invigorate your life after work, this is the class for you.
