FORGAN ARTS KIDS HOLIDAY CLUB
Our ever popular ‘Forgan Kids Art Club’ will be running during the Summer holidays, offering an exciting club full of arts and crafts for primary aged children. Jam-packed with creative fun for those looking to be inspired and for little hands to be kept busy!
With our experienced Play Leaders and Artists, the children can engage in a variety of activities and mini workshops such as pottery, printing, building, painting and more!
With the success of Ceramics during the last clubs, where possible we will have a pottery session each day.
The children will get to experiment with different techniques of stamping shapes, playing with textures, hand building pots and model making. At points there will be a chance to have a shot on the pottery wheel to throw small pots to decorate and fire.
This is a unique opportunity for the children to work with ceramics and immerse themselves in arts and crafts over the holiday.
Where the weather allows, we may take some activities outdoors. We would also hope to take walks to forage for foliage to use in our crafts, allowing the children to explore new textures and techniques.
Children will need to bring a packed lunch each day, snack and refreshments will be provided.

Portrait and Pet Painting with Gouache for 10 – 18 year olds
The workshop will be led by Yvonne Stewart of ‘Coramantic’. Based in Balmullo, Yvonne creates quirky playful illustrations in soft bright colours. In this 4 hour workshop you will create a portrait of a person or an animal or pet using gouache. Gouache is a type of paint that shares characteristics of both watercolour and acrylic. Here you will learn the basics of painting with this media and be taught portrait painting techniques, then apply your skills in creating a final portrait. Students will make experimental sheets to begin, familiarizing themselves with gouache. Final artwork will be presented in a cello bag with backing board and a certificate about the artwork for them to take home.
Materials will be provided but please bring along any photos you might like to work from. Remember your packed lunch! Tea, coffee, juice and biscuits available at the Centre.
