Welcome to Alana Peden our new Centre Coordinator

Forgan Arts Centre are delighted to announce the appointment of Alana Peden as their new Centre Co-ordinator.

Alana is a successful local artist having graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art with a First class honours degree, where she was subsequently invited back as Designer in Residence. She has since exhibited her jewellery across the country.  Alana is based in St Andrews where she also runs her own studio, creating porcelain and silver jewellery on commission.

"I am really looking forward to joining the Forgan community and working to grow the centre to its full potential. This is an important time for Forgan Arts, as we pave a secure path for the centres future. Forgan Arts Centre offers an extensive programme of arts and crafts and is considered somewhat of a hidden gem.

I signed up for a pottery class and completely fell in love with the place. A mere stride from a stop of the local '99' bus route, it's easy to reach from both Fife and Tayside. I couldn't believe that it had been here waiting for me all of this time!"

Alana is joining us after 10 years in both management and charity fundraising for lifestyle brand White Stuff.

Alana Peden will be joining Forgan Arts Centre from Tuesday 16th February 2016.

Being An Artist at West Hall in Wormit

On the final weekend in February in West Hall in Wormit, 130 artists between the ages of 3-11 took part in Being An Artist. This is the third time this project, funded by the Big Lottery and organised by a group of local artists and parents in partnership with Wormit Playgroup, has taken place and the theme this year was Landscapes and Living Spaces.

The young artists were supported by around 20 adult artists who volunteered their time over the weekend to help the children realise their ideas. And some of these ideas were amazing and extraordinary!

The artworks will be exhibited in Tatha Gallery in Newport-on-Tay from Sat 12th - Sunday 13th March. This year all the young artists made dioramas (an exciting scene built in a shoe-box!). Some will be exhibited as dioramas, others were photographed and the photos will be on display in the gallery.

It was a wonderful project to be involved with and Forgan Arts Centre would

like to thank Wormit Playgroup and the other organisers for including us.
