Tin works...

Transform all those old biscuit tins lurking in your cupboard into a flock of robins and other creatures to adorn your Christmas tree using just a few simple tools and techniques. In this all-day workshop, you will learn how to prepare and cut the tin; how to emboss and add texture; how to incorporate wire and other materials; and how to use a pop riveter to connect pieces together. There will be plenty of examples on hand for inspiration plus, of course, lots of mince pies!

All tools and materials will be supplied but do bring along any of your own tins you’d like to use.

Tutor Philippa Johnston is a Fife-based metalsmith and textile artist who works with recycled tin, wire and other materials to create two and three dimensional decorative and functional pieces inspired by traditional and contemporary folk art.
